Current Military Barrack Conditions
In September 2023, the U.S. Government Accountability Office released a report documenting substandard living conditions in some military barracks. The report found that:
- The DOD does not reliably assess conditions, and some barracks are substandard;
- The DOD does not have complete funding information to make informed decisions, and;
- The DOD conducts insufficient oversight.
